Member Spotlight | Banjo Harris Plane Opens Good Pair Days’ First IRL Wine Shop in Sydney

We’re raising a glass to Mâché member Banjo Harris Plane, co-founder of Good Pair Days, who is now making waves with their first physical wine shop in Sydney 🍷

Good Pair Days began in 2014 as a subscription-based online wine retailer, created to make wine more inclusive, fun and approachable. After 11 years online, including expansion to the UK, Banjo and the team have opened their first real-life location in Surry Hills. The space is a wine-bar-bottle-shop hybrid that brings their signature playful and accessible approach to wine into the real world.

Housed in the old Bartolo space on Crown Street, the bar features over 150 wines starting from $15, a snacky food menu and even beers from small Australian breweries. Members enjoy perks such as $5 off wine by the glass and no corkage on bottles, making it easy to enjoy a drink with friends without breaking the bank.

Next time you are in Sydney, be sure to visit the shop and enjoy its stylish design and delicious wines. Congratulations to Banjo and the whole Good Pair Days team on this fantastic achievement!

Mâché Eats | Creamy Pumpkin Protein Pasta

This October weather still calls for cosy meals and hearty flavours, and this creamy pumpkin protein pasta fits the bill 🎃 Packed with roasted mushrooms and fresh broccoli, it’s comforting, healthy, and full of flavour, perfect for a breezy spring evening. A big thanks, as always, to our amazing member Sarah Lelliott for sharing her recipes and inspiring us with delicious food ideas!

Ingredients

Pasta & Veg
2 packets Slendier Soy Bean Pasta (or pasta of choice)
200g broccoli

Pumpkin Sauce
800g pumpkin, cubed
2 cloves garlic
4 tbsp (20g) nutritional yeast
2 tsp smoked paprika
½–1 tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
¼ tsp chilli powder (optional)

Marinated Mushroom
400g mushrooms, halved
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp red wine vinegar
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tsp dried oregano

Optional Topping:
Acacia Blends Shroomin Sprinkle

Method

Marinate mushrooms
Combine all ingredients in a bowl, mix well, and set aside for up to an hour, tossing occasionally.

Prep oven & pasta water
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Bring a pot of water to boil for pasta.

Roast mushrooms
Place mushrooms on a lined baking tray and roast until liquid is absorbed and mushrooms are slightly crispy.

Cook pumpkin
Place pumpkin cubes in a saucepan, cover with cold water, bring to a boil, then simmer until soft and nearly falling apart.

Cook pasta
Add pasta to boiling water and cook until al dente.

Make the sauce
Drain most of the pumpkin water into a bowl (reserve some for blending if needed).
Blend pumpkin with garlic, nutritional yeast, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and chilli powder until smooth.
Add reserved water or milk to reach desired consistency. Keep it thick if reheating later, adding a dash of water when serving.

Steam broccoli
If serving immediately, steam broccoli. If prepping ahead, leave uncooked; it will steam when reheated.

Combine & serve
Drain pasta and toss through pumpkin sauce.
Top with roasted mushrooms, broccoli, extra nutritional yeast, and Shroomin Sprinkle if using.

Business | From public to private: How capital raising is changing for Australian businesses

For generations, the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) was the natural destination for businesses chasing capital and credibility. But, as compliance costs climb and private equity becomes more accessible, many firms – including those in South Australia – are turning to private markets instead.

What does this mean for us? This so-called "democratisation of investment" opens up avenues for private investors with equity starting from just $50k to join the private investment game, as well as more opportunities for small business owners to access funding through private equity funds.

Sustainability | Renewables Overtake Coal for First Time

Renewable electricity generation has surpassed coal for the first time, both worldwide and in Australia, marking a powerful step in the global transition away from fossil fuels.

A recent report by the energy thinktank Ember has shown that the world generated almost a third more solar power in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. In Australia, renewables also surpassed coal for the first time in electricity generation as September data showed Australian solar, wind, hydro and biomass energy produced 9.24 terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity, outpacing the 8.8 TWh from coal.

With renewable capacity expected to more than double by 2030 and solar alone contributing 80 per cent of new capacity according to IEA, the energy future is looking greener than ever.
