There’s Still Time! | Sign Up for a Roaming Desk This February and Get Double Weekly Passes
If you could design your ideal work week, what would it look like? This February, we’re celebrating flexible work with a Roaming Desk anniversary perk: sign up for any Roaming Desk membership, and for your first month with us, we’ll double your weekly access for your first month:
💜1 day per week → come in 2 days per week
💜2 days per week → come in 4 days per week
💜3 days per week → come in up to 5 days per week*
This anniversary perk is available for a limited time and applies to new sign-ups made in February only. Start anytime up to March 2026.
*Note: Roaming Desk members can access Mâché Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 8 pm, so weekly visits are capped at 5 days.
Member Feature | Paddy Black
One of our favourite things at Mâché is seeing members stick around longer than they expected. Paddy Black joined us in 2024 for what was meant to be just a few months… and here we are, two years later!
Paddy is the co-founder of Pure Plant Protein, hands down the best-tasting protein powder around, if we may say so ourselves. When he’s not busy growing his business, he’s making music, writing his own songs, and indulging his “board game nerd” side.
We asked Paddy why he’s stayed with us for so long: “My days are simply better at Mâché. I’m happier, I’ve got a better daily routine, and I get to catch up with everyone at the space each day!”
And when it comes to recommending Mâché to others, here’s what he had to say: “If you want to get more done, build better work habits, and be around a great community, then Mâché’s the place.”

Any must-read books or must-watch movies?
The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson is an amazing (and big) fantasy series, but also Shogun, Red Rising, and Mistborn. Favourite movie is for sure Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, or anything Studio Ghibli.
Favourite holiday spot?
Ooh, that’s tricky! Maybe hiking in Grindelwald, Switzerland or skiing in Canada.
Go-to comfort food?
Pasta of any kind, bruschetta and a big fresh salad with lots of colourful veggies (and heaps of kalamata olives)
One thing you absolutely can’t live without?
My water bottle! You’ll know something is seriously wrong if you ever see me without it.
Favourite band, DJ, or solo artist?
Some of my all-time albums would be IGOR by Tyler The Creator, NFR by Lana Del Rey, Carrie & Lowell by Sufjan Stevens and For Emma, Forever Ago by Bon Iver.
Perfect day out in Adelaide?
Hard exercise with friends first thing, then a beach swim, sauna and a big brekkie with friends. Some alone time - maybe read in a park with Staazi and Co for lunch, then record music all afternoon. A nap (vital), pasta and salad for dinner and then a big nerdy board game with friends at night. Perfecto!
Mâché Anniversary | Back When It All Began on Wright Street
Once upon a time (well, about ten years ago) Mâché opened its doors on Wright Street. The space was smaller, but the energy? Unstoppable!

Mâché Eats | Pickled Summer Squash
This time, we’re bringing you something a little different, perfect for that fresh summer harvest vibe. ThisPickled Summer Squash is bright, tangy, and just the right amount of crisp, the kind of little extra that takes a simple meal up a notch.
Huge thanks to our member Sarah for sharing this absolute gem of a recipe with us.
Ingredients:
650-700g yellow squash or zucchini, thinly sliced
1 brown onion, thinly sliced
9 sprigs fresh coriander (optional)
3 large cloves of garlic, halved
1 tbsp mixed peppercorns
1.5 tsp coriander seeds
1 tbsp crushed chilli flakes
1.25 cup apple cider vinegar
1.25 cup water
2.5 tbsp honey
2 tsp sea salt
In a glass jar or bowl large enough to fit all ingredients (around 2L), add the squash/zucchini, onion, fresh coriander, garlic, peppercorns, coriander seeds and chilli flakes. Set aside.
In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, bring vinegar, water, salt and honey to a boil. Pour the hot mixture over the contents in the jar, pressing down on the vegetables so that the brine covers them completely. Let cool on the counter to room temperature. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or 2 days for maximum flavour.

Take Note | Upcoming Changes to Payday Super
Big changes to Payday Super are coming from 1 July 2026. Our member Maree Spalding from Clyde Avenue Advisory shares what employers need to know, what’s changing, and how to prepare.
Staying ahead of these updates now will make the transition much smoother later. Thanks, Maree, for keeping our community informed!
Upcoming Changes to Payday Super (Effective 1 July 2026)
Australia is introducing Payday Super, changing how and when employers pay super to ensure employees receive it sooner and reduce unpaid super.
What’s Changing?
Pay on Payday: From 1 July 2026, super must be paid on the same day as wages, within 7 business days, instead of quarterly.
Qualifying Earnings (QE): Super will be calculated on QE, including ordinary time earnings and some additional payments.
Digital Upgrades: SuperStream improvements will reduce errors and allow faster payments. A new Member Verification Request lets employers check employee super details before paying.
Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH): Closing 1 July 2026. Businesses must transition to a new payment method; the final recommended use is for the Jan - Mar 2026 quarter.
What Stays the Same:
Super guarantee rate remains 12%.
Employees still choose their super fund, including stapled funds.
Cash Flow Impact:
Super payments every payday will overlap with the April - June quarter finalisation, temporarily increasing outgoings. Businesses should forecast, review payroll processes, and prepare for higher super outflows during the transition.
When to Act:
Start preparing well before July 2026 by:
Checking with your payroll software provider about system updates
Reviewing how you currently pay super
Transitioning away from the SBSCH, if you still use it
Ensuring employee super details are accurate and up to date
Forecast early for the temporary changes in outgoings
