Meditation for Beginners, guided by Leticia Mooney, is running on Thursday mornings at 7.15-7.45am from 29th August for 6 weeks.

'Meditation, for the non-meditator, tends to cause a groan and an expressed desire all at once. What is actually one of the simplest activities in the world has been over-complicated by gurus and visualisations and apps.

The groan often goes like this:

Urrrgh I can’t meditate. I’d love to, but I can’t do it. But my mind just won’t shut up.

Meditation can be challenging, but it isn’t difficult. The biggest lie in the world is that you meditate to “quiet your mind”. It’s not true. You meditate because it allows you to find peace and joy.' - Leticia Mooney

Meditation for Beginners will give you a solid grounding. It will teach you:

*The very basics: Where to start!
*How to handle a busy mind that just won’t shut the eff up
*A couple of ways to relax your body
*A couple of simple techniques that you can practise in your own time
